Greater
Lafayette Leadership Prayer Breakfast
This annual event is held on the
first Thursday in October at the University Plaza Hotel. The goal
of this breakfast is to continue to increase an awareness of the social
needs of our community and to strengthen and expand cooperation among
area evangelical churches in meeting these needs through the transformational
power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
National Day of Prayer
Thursday, May 6th marks our
community
observance of the National Day of Prayer -
a very important day in the life of our
country. Millions of Americans will join
together across racial, political and
denominational boundaries to pray for
our nation and its leaders. The theme this
year is Prayer
For Such A Time As This -
Nahum 1:7.
Three city-wide events will take place on May 6th.
The National Day of Prayer
begins with a prayer breakfast at 7:00 a.m. at the University Plaza
Hotel in West Lafayette. Reservations for the breakfast are required
and the deadline is Wednesday, April 28th. The cost is $15.00 per person;
full tables of eight may be reserved for $120.00. Please make checks payable
to T.E.A.M.M. Reserve seats
by returning a registration
form or by calling 497-4509 or emailing contact@teammglpw.org.
This will be followed by the outdoor noonday
observance at the Riehle Plaza
in downtown Lafayette starting at 12:10 p.m. This gathering will be
filled with worship and prayer to God for our governmental leaders, churches,
families and other important areas of our community life. A local worship
band will lead us in public praise of our Lord Jesus Christ. Concluding
the National Day of Prayer will be a City-Wide Night of Worship at
Faith Baptist Church from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A special feature will
be a combined worship band from area churches leading us in worship. Download
a bulletin
for these events.
City-Wide Night of Worship
Annually we gather at the Long
Center on a Sunday evening to lift up the Lord Jesus Christ over Greater
Lafayette! Over 700 people participated in our first City-Wide Night
of Worship in June of 2007.
T.E.A.M.M. - Works
Serving
Our Neighbors & Neighborhoods
This is a cooperative effort of T.E.A.M.M. churches and ministries to
serve the citizens of Tippecanoe County and to glorify Jesus Christ through
neighborhood revitalization projects. "Let
your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
T.E.A.M.M. churches and ministries have an important
opportunity to demonstrate a living faith in Jesus Christ by loving our
city with a Block Blessing Blitz. At the invitation of our
Lafayette mayor, T.E.A.M.M. has been invited to serve selected sites in
city neighborhoods by doing various outdoor housing renovations, yard
work and graffiti cleanup. Our desire is to bless the city block through
the hearts and hands of local evangelical Christians. If you and your
church and ministry want to get involved, watch for more information about
the next Blitz!
"What use is it, my brethren, if someone
says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother
or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you
says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,' and yet you do not
give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so
faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well
say, 'You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the
works, and I will show you my faith by my works.'" James 2:14-18
Pastor’s Pulpit Exchange
Annually each October the TEAMM pastors in the Greater
Lafayette Area exchange pulpits in order to further cultivate TEAMM’s
objectives. The Pulpit Exchange helps to serve to build trust and further
unity among participating
pastors and churches as well as provide an opportunity to educate ourselves
on
the diversity of liturgy and styles of worship among other evangelical
churches
in our community.
Pastor’s Prayer
Retreat
Each March T.E.A.M.M. pastors and ministry
leaders gather for an overnight retreat held at the Tecumseh Leadership
Center. Over the years the retreat has provided an opportunity for pastors
and ministry leaders who are committed to advancing the Kingdom in our
community for encouragement and refreshing.
It has also provided a great time of fellowship and deepening of relationships.
